Steve Grant – Chair of Governors
Steve Grant joined the team of governors for Acorn Free School in November 2015. He has been Deputy Headteacher in a Lincolnshire secondary school for the last two years. Prior to this he was Assistant Headteacher and designated safeguarding lead in another school for five years. In these roles he has developed extensive experience in keeping children safe in education. He is currently working towards completion of the NPQH.
PCSO Zoe Watts – Vice Chair of Governors
Zoe Joined Lincolnshire Police as a Police Community Support Officer in 2010, becoming a local officer for the Bracebridge Lowfields Policing area (which encompasses the Acorn Free School) in 2014. Throughout her time in Lincolnshire Police, PCSO Watts held additional roles and is currently LGBT & Equalities Officer for the Lincolnshire Police Staff UNISON Branch.
Liz Durward – Finance Link Governor
Liz has served on the governing body at Acorn since April 2015. Her background is in primary education across all phases including leading three schools as Headteacher. At Acorn she is finance link governor which involves working in school with relevant staff on a monthly basis to ensure effective oversight of our financial procedures.
Noreen has been involved since the start of Acorn and is fully behind the ethos of the school and remains committed to the principles of the school. She has 20 years experience as a Headteacher of a special school having taught in every type of special school including a Pupil Referral Unit. Noreen also work with Lincolnshire County Council special schools as a consultant for children with SEN and is a member of the LCC board which is currently looking at SEN. She also has extensive experience as an OFSTED inspector and has worked with a number of other Local Authorities in relation to special educational needs.
Aggie de Vries
Aggie is a probation officer working for the National Probation Service in Lincoln. She regularly provides training to other probation staff. She has also recently co-presented a workshop on the function of denial at an international conference in Dublin.
